Although traditional 12-step programs have proven helpful over several decades and have, and continue to, save and heal thousands of lives, the plain truth is that they simply don’t work for everyone; regardless of how badly a person truly wants healing and recovery. Sobereignty was developed precisely for those individuals, as well as for others who haven’t considered a recovery/prevention program but are absolutely serious about healing and recovery.

FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)
Are you part of the more popular addiction and alcoholism support groups?
Sobereignty is 100% independent from any addiction/alcoholism organization. We are a privately run business.
Are you a traditional 12-Step program?
Soberiegnty is a 5-Step program, but we're more than a few steps; we're a journey of empowerment. Although we recognize that all forms of healing have their place, we do not share the "powerlessness" and "disease" philosophies professed by many traditional programs. Our philosophy is one of empowerment and health & healing.
Are you part of a religious group?
Although a vital part of our program involves spiritual support, Sobereignty is not a religion or a religious group. Those who participate and have no spiritual convictions are invited to apply the spiritual aspects of our program in a scientific 'conscious' manner.
Can I come and observe the group before committing?
Out of respect for those who are wholeheartedly committed to their healing process, and in order to protect their privacy, "visitors" are not permitted to participate. Those who are serious about healing addiction are ready to commit, and they join. We do, however, explain the details of our program during the preliminary interview.
I don't like groups; is there a 1-on-1 program available?
Yes. A dedicated 1-on-1 consulting program is available for individuals who prefer not to deal with groups.
Does this cost anything?
Yes. Unlike many popular groups, Sobereignty does not function on
donations and is not run by volunteers. This is a private, closed group of
individuals who are serious about healing their addiction. As such, all
participants pay fees to participate.
What makes Sobereignty different from all the other organizations?
Perhaps the most vital factor which separates Sobereignty from all other addiction
programs is that we do not recognize alcoholism and addiction as an unhealable or
untreatable illness. Furthermore, aside from the Inherently Affirmative approach
we take to healing addiction, we focus less on addiction and substance-abuse itself and more
on the underlying issues which nurture addiction. Finally, we have no interest in having
people become members for life. People come to us to heal and recover, and then get on with their lives!
Where are you located?
We currently have programs available in Toronto, Ontario (Canada) and in Montreal, Quebec (Canada), but we're growing, and we'll announce new locations as they develop.
How do I join?
Sobereignty takes great care in interviewing its participants to ensures that all participants who wish to join our program are in fact truly ready to commit to change. All new prospective members must meet with our facilitator prior to joining. We are not a sales-oriented organization; we do not have quotas to meet. We are genuinely in the business of helping people heal their lives.
